Best Advice Part 2

This is part two of the hopefully three part best advice "series." Hope you guys enjoy these tidbits of advice!

“If you're ministering to someone, you have the responsibility to present them with truth and call them to respond to that truth. Your job isn’t to convert them or change them or convict them. God and God alone can produce a change within their heart.” -Adam Glombowski

It’s meaningful to me because I will be working in a full time ministry and remembering our place is sometimes difficult!

-Hali M.

The Alchemist (a book) -Paulo Coelho

I recently read this book, and I can truly say that it changed my life beyond belief. This was a perfect time for the book to deliver these messages to me, as I am currently finalizing what I’m going to do after I graduate, how I’m going to get there in the first place, and what I truly want to do with my life. The overall message of The Alchemist is that everybody has their own personal destiny, and we need to surrender our lives to fulfill them. Our callings are “written,” and we will certainly fail on the journey to make it happen, but we must not give up. Everything we do was meant to be, every mistake and success. You have the potential to do anything. In addition to that, humans, no matter the race or religion, are alike because they have personal destinies. Each human that shows themselves in your OWN life is helping YOU fulfill YOUR destiny and you are helping fulfill THEIRS. We were all created by the same hand, and we all help each other to build ourselves as people, positive or negative.

“Honor your mother and father.” -Ephesians 6:2

“Look forward to the future, but know the things you love right now and do them with your whole heart.” -My Coach

For me this reminds me to stay focused on what I choose to get involved in. I’ve learned that I don’t need to be in everything, but rather be all in on what I’m a part of. I remind myself of this advice when I am struggling because it helps me take things day by day. Lastly, more specifically it motivates me to push to improve myself daily, not comparing myself to others, but instead by the work I put in.

“You are fine China, so don’t let someone treat you like a paper plate.” -Kaitlyn Farris

This quote can apply to boy relationships, or any relationship for that matter. You are made to be treasured and loved, so don’t let someone treat you like garbage.

-Marly H.

Have a wonderful day!
